Interesting. According to the records, related to me by Roy, M&P number SV802722 was the highest numbered military .38 shipped to the Navy. It left the factory on August 13, 1945. That was just two days before Tokyo announced its surrender.
I do notice that a lot of them shipped in April and May of '45. But apparently a few did ship later.
