I've got a handful of mainstream brands that have been tested and found, for the most part, reliable and consistent. They balance expansion to get good penetration into the 'good zone' of the gel blocks with a minimum number of fails. I'm not stuck on any one 'great' bullets, except maybe for Gold Dot Short Barrels in my .38 snubs.

Just off the top of my head, HSTs, XTPs, Gold Dots are a few of the consistent performers in my book.

It's a shame when a company with a good name (no names here) make wild claims and mislead their customers who trust them with their lives.

Sometimes I wonder if just a basic SWC with the right hardness to expand well isn't more reliable than than the engineered 'wonder ammo' we've come to believe to be 'best'.
