You did good and got a fine gun. The target trigger and hammer are a sweet bonus and it's neat to see a S&W hang tag. Never saw one before.

I'm not sure I would have traded a Colt V spring action towards it though. Depends on the condition I guess, but pre-war2 isn't that interesting to me for actual shooter and duty guns so maybe.

I really like the 4" model 18s and was a little bummed to discover them after I already bought my 17-4. I like shorter barrels mostly for handiness, so the 18 really appealed to me. However, my 17 is a varmint dispatch gun and I really like the patridge front sight on a 6" barrel for an accurate sight picture. So I favor the 17s.
