I currently have 4 SxS's and am ALWAYS looking for more. "Best" grade guns always bring several times more money than I want to spend, but good condition field guns are a real joy to shoot.
I have a great condition Sauer 20 gauge from the late 50's, that is so much fun to hunt with, but the chokes are a little tight for sporting clays without the expense of spreader ammo.
I also have a Youth/Ladies 20 gauge Trap gun from the 20's or 30's. Very short stock and choked full and fuller! It has become a Cowboy Action gun for the wife and D-I-L's.
With the larger frames of current Americans and the very thick clothing of older times, it is difficult to find a vintage SxS that fits even close for comfortable sport shooting. Buy I am always looking.
I'm sure fellow member Bill Bates will be along shortly with some photos of his beautiful doubles!
