I've run into some older shooters at our Club Range that brought down .22 Bricks and mint Factory boxes of all types and calibers just to shoot. I said if you are going to just shoot this would you mind swapping out with me for my currently made ammo? They were happy to do so and so I've got a nice little collection of vintage ammo - some goes back to the 1920's
I don't shoot most of it however I do hunt with 50 - 70 year old 12 Gauge Shot Shells because I had so many of them it was silly not too. The Pheasants never knew the difference and all worked just fine (including the cardboard hull shells). I'm saving the best of the boxes for display.
