Complicated question. I own many J frames, I have owned two D frames, I traded both for K frames.

There is a premium on C**** at least around here. I have nothing against the D frame, in .38 special you gain a round, I would not dream of mixing S&Ws C**** and R***** as carry guns because of their differences. I just don't PERSONALLY see a reason for the price difference.

But there are plenty of folks who will pay that premium, or trade what I consider to be nicer.

So I would rather have the S&W, but if offered both in the same condition, at the same price I would take the C***. I would shoot it and enjoy owning it, but would entertain offers for trades.
