The serial places it in spring 1943.

And if there is no top-strap stamp, it likely did not meet up with the holster until after the war, because the gun would be a DSC or Maritime Commission contract gun, not military-shipped.

Happened a lot with these sets. A vet brings his holster home, and later buys a surplus gun "just like the ones we got issued in the war" to go with it.

PS: A bit odd in appearance. The finish is unusually shiny for a Victory, and sideplate fit is very poor, but somehow it does not look refinished to me.
