Lots of things wrong about the story.
Who does a back-flip on a dance floor while carrying?
My opinion, only a dummy, even if he is an FBI agent.
I know I will be roundly excoriated by the **booger hook-bang switch** crowd, but this
is just more proof to me that a Glop is inherently dangerous. I realize that under
the circumstances, any handgun could have fired. I believe, though, that a double action
revolver, or a properly safed 1911, would be much less likely to fire than the Glop. In fact, my guess
would be that the Glop is probably at least 10 times more likely to fire under that particular
scenario.
It is fairly obvious that in his haste to grab the gun, he got his finger in the trigger guard
and applied enough pressure to fire the gun.
In the end, though, the discharge isn**t the fault of the gun, but is a severe case of defective operator head spacing.
