Now the issue is, how do you deal with people like this, kidnappers, pedophiles, rapists, murderers, thieves, etc. I thinks its clear that prison only works to keep criminals off the street for a period of time and therapy can only do so much, most won't change because of either. So what are the other options?

Since people don't change, those people who believe incarceration or therapy are the answer will never think of other options, and nothing will change. However, removing firearms from law abiding citizens is not the answer. (any bureaucrat that says they believe in the 2nd Amendment but lobbies to create more gun laws are all liars, they are really trying to remove guns form everyone in turn giving power to the government.)
