I'm not a bit impressed with LA and I doubt you will be, either. Head over to the Palm Springs area for a nice relaxing day. PS has some great restaurants, and Desert Hot Springs has some great places to take a soak and unwind. It's just a couple hours east. You could even go from there up to Joshua Tree National Park.
