Thank goodness they aren't. Colt isn't what it once was. The other thing that is commonly misunderstood, is that when you describe a style of firearm i.e. 1911 it's not concerning a particular brand of 1911 since they were manufactured by literally dozens of different companies. I have many Colt single action Army models by various manufacturers.
When a person asks me what I'm wearing I just say a Colt .45 and if they want specifics then tell them the exact model and year it is. I think those who are snobs about it are silly and personally don't want to bother with them. If you are a snob, please move on and whine elsewhere. If you are not a gun snob and just want to "educate" me, then thank you for the enlightenment. Otherwise I just enjoy guns and art they can be.
I love my Colt models very much.
