I bought one of long-barrel Marlin1895CBs last year. I kept my fingers crossed because of all the bad press the Remington Marlins had gotten after the Marlin plant closed. The one I got looks good and shoots good too.

I tried mounting a scope on it temporarily to work up some cast bullet handloads but with the drop in the stock and the height of the scope it was hard to sight and shoulder properly. Luckily it shot well with the loads I was using for my other 45-70 so the scope was on for only one trip to the range.
