I have both.

The 3" M629 is a bit easier to carry, but really there's not much difference. Lately I've been carrying the 4" M29, and I plan to continue.

If I had to choose, I'd pick the M29 because it's square butt and fits my hand better. But it's really a coin toss as they are both brilliant guns.
