--------and 404219 shipped September 9, 1922; so you have it pretty well bracketed.

Then there's the tale of two of my single shots------just to provide a measure of credibility to our guesstimates of what happened when. 4807 was finished, and placed in the shipping vault on May 9, 1911. 4826 the same---on June 21, 1911. So far, so good---right? Well----maybe.

4826 was shipped three days later---June 24, 1911. 4807 didn't make it out until November----November the 11th----November the 11th of 1915.

The moral of this story is you have two sources for information about these toys of ours. One is an essentially anonymous statement appearing on your computer screen. The other is a letter---black ink on white paper (more like beige paper) from the historical foundation. One of them is worthwhile----for sure and certain-----it for sure and certain tells you what the factory records say----which may or may not be the fact of the matter.

That brings us to another one of my single shots---an 8" .32----#14272. The letter says it's a 10" .22.

Sleep well.

Ralph Tremaine.
