NEVER ship anything with a gun that you want to see again. When I ship a gun back to the manufacturer, I return it as best I can to the condition it was in when it left the factory. That includes springs, trigger shoes, grips, sights, anything that has been changed in the life of the gun. If I don't have the original grips, I send it without grips. I wrap it in paper and bubble wrap and ship it in whatever cardboard box I have laying around. When a manufacturer works on a gun, they return it in factory new condition with their parts. Anything foreign is scrapped. It's too bad you lost your original box and I'd be mad too but I don't think you are ever going to see it again.
