I have what should turn out to be a nice Heiser belt. The main body of the belt looks good, a nice dark brown. The tongue area has apparently been through the buckle so many times, most of the surface color is worn off the wrinkles and it's kind of a fuzzy tan. I'm thinking of dyeing that area, then BlackRocking the whole thing.

Question:
Fiebing's alcohol-based dye , or oil-based dye?

I have had no experience with either. Any caveats would be welcome.
