Back in the 90s when the Bulgarians were imported I was at a gun show and a dealer had a rack of guns marked "made in Bulgaria". I picked up one and on close inspection noticed that while so marked it actually was made in the USSR based on hallmarks. So I have a true Soviet military Makarov and not one of the ones with the adjustable sights made for commercial sale,
