This is great reading, and a lot of good information, being that I just traded into a 5.5" 45 convertible today! But there's not nearly enough pictures in this thread.
While it's still new and unfired by me just yet, I did get a few photos of it before I get it dirty tomorrow. Being a reloader, and also having another 45 Colt in a 25-5 and a Henry Carbine of the same caliber, I have a lot of ammo to start with.
I really wanted a convertible this time, being I had a 45 Vaquero the last time I had a Ruger single action. I also have a few 45's to use the magazine trick with. What a great idea! My nightstand 45 is a 15 round Sar K2, so that's gonna work out great.
I would have bought the shorter barrel again, but this deal was one I couldn't walk away from. My rear sight is noticeably over to the right side, and I'm hoping the PO was just cock-eyed. LOL!
I'll try getting some outdoor shots of and out of it tomorrow .
