A friend gave me a cheap scope for my Marlin 22LR, model 80 DL, that I've owned for 50 +/- years. I mounted it on the Marlin, went to the range a few days ago. The scope was a bust, foggy, couldn't focus it etc.
Took it back off yesterday and remounted my old Weaver 4x that I traded for or bought used sometime back in the dark ages. It was made in El Paso, TX and still a good but somewhat beatup scope.
Went to the range this morning for a short trip to sight in the scope. The groups got smaller, with the best results highlighted with the arrow. I think it measured .562 or 9/16" if you prefer. Not to bad for an old guy, with a old rifle and scope. 14 shots if you are counting. Why fourteen? Cause I have 2 magazines that hold (don't get ahead of me now) 7 rounds each. Sometimes I shake more than others. But today, I was encouraged.
Have a blessed day,
Leon
