Very few target stocks were ever stamped with Serial Numbers. Some early (1955-56) K-Frame Target Stocks for the Combat Magnum were stamped, but rarely do those stocks appear on the guns they number to. Target stocks did not require the precise fitting for a specific gun - more tolerance for error.
The target stocks on the 27-2 that you refer to should not have a serial number stamped on them.
