Default ADJUSTABLE STRAIN SCREW for PAUL if you see it this ones for you

Straight up folks I got locked out of Facebook go figure, so thought I would throw this out on here.

Man named Paul asked me about coming up with and adjustable strain screw for competition guns about two years ago on a SW facebook group. So this ones for you Paul. I figured it out back then but could not get the info to you. Almost forgot about it till I saw a note to self in the shop when I was emptying out an old box of papers.

The adjustable strain screw is real easy to do. It just goes straight up thru the bottom of the grip frame and tightens into the underside of the strain screw, the brass tip keeps it from chewing up your strain screw.

Any gunsmith in shop or home machinist can do it. All it takes is a .250 square end centercut endmill, a #10-32 long setscrew with brass tip from mcmaster-carr, and a #10-32 tap drill and tap. You may get away with a #12 but look at it vs the frame when you lay this out to make sure you dont wind up too thin at the wall. You could probably go heavier and work a full blown cap screw into it but again lay it out and see for yourself.

Remove strain screw, put frame in vice on mill / hold by grip frame with base of butt upwards, create flat surface for tap drill to start on, swap tools and bore the #10 tap hole, then tap the hole.

Just keep an eye on making sure you clean up the little burr on this inside of the strain screw hole so when you put your strain screw back in you dont bugger the threads.

And tada you have the illusive adjustable strain screw.

For folks that dont do this kind of stuff for themselves I already talked to Mark Hartshorne at Pinnacle Gunsmithing and he is willing to do it for yall at a reasonable cost. We all know Marks quality so no worries there. 610.285.4392 Pinnacle High Performance - Custom Revolvers, Revolver Gunsmith
