It was pretty noisy in my neighborhood. Fireworks are technically illegal in the city limits, but that doesn't stop many folks from celebrating. My wife was annoyed and wanted to call the cops. I said, relax, the cops have more important things to do than chase kids with a few firecrackers. Besides, it's the sound of freedom.

There was one incident here where a guy burned his own house down. He saw a police car coming and quickly put all his fireworks into the garage. Evidently along with the lighters or "punks" as we always called them still lit. His house is a total loss after the stuff went off inside the garage and set the house alight.
