If I have lead bullet loads that are over ten years old I fire them and reload the cases.

My 38 +P 158 FBI loads tend to oxidize and turn gray after a
long time in the box, not that it hurts the bullet but the lube dries out.

I tried cleaning the bullets up but it is a hassle and not worth my time.

However I served in the US Navy and we were trained that "Scroungie" stuff, was not acceptable.
