The old man and his buddy both thought the butt ugly Walther P-38 was the best , most advanced pistol to come out of WWII and NOTHING I could say would change their minds ... I was heartbroken and never did get a 08 Luger.
About 6 years ago Dad gives me the P-38 ...I still to this day wish it were a 1908 Luger...

1. The P.38 is a good pistol(it has been our service pistol from 1961 to this day
), and it is not ugly.
2. You like the Luger? Go and buy one, there are still plenty around.
