I see lots of 329PDs with almost no wear (and yes, wood grips) for sale at the local shops.

They feel so good in the hand...before you touch off a 240gr JSP @ 1400fps.

I used to shoot my much heavier 629 5" with wood grips and finally succumbed to X-Frame Hogue Tamers. Now it's enjoyable.
