I remember well when the 329PD was introduced. A very short time later the LGS’s were well stocked with “LNIB” examples.
I had already been to the school of hard knocks on recoil so I was not biting on this light weight wonder.
Lesson #1. 12 gauge O/U lightweight. Great gun with light target loads in it. OK that is a lie. It was still no fun. But the idea was chukar gun. 1 1/8 oz game loads were akin to a mountain howitzer fired from the shoulder.
That gun made it 1 hunt and was sold to the next idiot.
Lesson #2. 300 WSM in a Mountain style rifle. The 300 WSM was touted as ballistics like the 300 Win Mag but recoil slightly more tha a 270. The 300 WSM recoils just like any other gun firing a 30 cal, 165 gr projectile @ 3100 FPS. Odd, but it felt just exactly like a 300 Win Mag to me.
Lesson I skipped. 44 cal 240 gr projectile leaving the muzzle @ 1400 FPS out of a revolver weighing slightly more than half the weight of a 4” 629 is going to be fun to shoot.
