Back when I carried a Model 39-2, I used a Bikini style holster, with no retention strap. Of course back then I really didn't worry about scratching a gun or wearing the blue. I could always go down to the gun store and buy another one if I wanted a bright shiny one.
Oh, for those days again.
Now that I think of it...that Bikini holster was a Smith and Wesson brand.
