John, just curious: are you the first owner of your 2206TGT? I wonder if perhaps someone else traded out the original wood grips for the ones that are on it now? The nice grips were one of the selling points for the TGT model; that's why I ask. I've learned, like many others, that with S&W you can "never say never," but if yours came from the factory as you've described, it would be surprising. Although I will admit, as described in post 15 of skjos's thread on assembly/disassembly of the 422/622/2206 models, that member slidemusik is very knowledgeable about this group of 22's, and apparently he has seen three different styles of grips from the factory.

If there's anything about these guns that slidemusik and shootsumm don't know, it's not out there to be known.
