The mag safety mounts on the same pin as the sear disconnect and is spring loaded. Once you removed the mag, the mag safety disengages the trigger bar so it can't be fired.
This sear housing has no mag safety. Note there's only the "yellow" lever you need to flip on disassembly (yes, you can pull the trigger if you prefer).

Here's a view from the top. You can see the mag safety lever protrudes into the mag well. The "yellow" sear disconnect is still retracted. The other "post" is the ejector. It doesn't move.
