When carrying a gun there is really no place or no style of carry that is 100% invulnerable to falling. If all you have is a minor bruise - not too bad. Like you said, even belt carry won't eliminate that.

Small of the Back is the absolute worst place to carry and can severely hurt you in a fall. I don't like appendix carry either - I want to die with two nuts! LOL!!
