Idiot scratch adds just the right touch
My daily carry M&P380 has developed a nice wear patina around the edges-just enough to show it is actually being used. I like it. Guns are like cars. The first scratch, ding, dent or whatever just throws one into a tizzy, but after that, she ain't no virgin no more and ya accept the fact that in normal use dings just gonna happen. I just would rather that they be put there by me and not someone else. I bought a stainless no frills Colt Series 80 1911 for that very reason. It goes boom, then clankity clank and then boom again for as long as ya pull the trigger. It is tin can accurate at 25 yards if I do my part and has a faint idiot scratch. The only thing that I want to do with it is to put a flat mainspring housing on it (preference) and an ambi safety. Problem is I'm having a hard time finding one that matches the brushed matter stainless finish the gun came with.
