The standard front sight, per the S&W Parts Catalog, was .229" tall. That's what my 1076 has on the front. (My rear Novak was replaced with a LPA adjustable sight, #TPU10WE30.)
The catalog shows that a .245" front sight was optional.
If yours has the taller front sight that might be why yours is hitting low.
The majority of my 3rd Gens all hit bullseye with a 6 o'clock hold.
I have had a couple that shot low & I put a shorter front sight on to correct.

That is a great point. I measured the front and it seems like the .229" version. The rear is 0.288" from the top of the slide, the best I could measure with my caliper.
You gave me an idea though: I'll try a boresighter and see what it says. I don' t have one in 10mm
If none of this pans out and after some more time with the gun I think I will go with the adj rear sight
