I seriously considered 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 SPC, and 300 Blackout, prior to purchasing a 308 AR... after studying the different small frame blown out cartridges, I decided on the .30, I have decided to build a 300 HAM'R... all you need is a barrel, but its best if you use the 300 Blackout magazines..

I have no interest in going subsonic and suppressed, and the 300 HAM'R was designed to meet or slightly surpass the old .30-.30. The 300 is coming along very nicely and I think you would be very happy with either cartridge, but if you wish to go surpressed, you should stick with the Blackout.

I am going with the 40 coil buffer spring, but pretty straightforward otherwise.. and building a small frame AR is so much easier that going with the puzzle of a large frame AR..

Good luck on your transition.. Daniel Defense builds good stuff!

I should add that Wilson Combat has a LOT of 300 HAM'R Ammo, everything from .90 gr at 2800 fps, to 150 gr. down around 2300 fps, lots of ammo!
Thanks, the process is on to suppress it. However, I did buy an Eotech for it this past weekend, just to realize I needed the Eotech with Night Vision if it's going to be suppressed for obvious reasons, but my Saint pistol happily benefitted from the Eotech 512 so Eotech with NV is coming up next. Here's the DD with the 512 before I had my "apithaney."
