I seriously considered 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 SPC, and 300 Blackout, prior to purchasing a 308 AR... after studying the different small frame blown out cartridges, I decided on the .30, I have decided to build a 300 HAM'R... all you need is a barrel, but its best if you use the 300 Blackout magazines..

I have no interest in going subsonic and suppressed, and the 300 HAM'R was designed to meet or slightly surpass the old .30-.30. The 300 is coming along very nicely and I think you would be very happy with either cartridge, but if you wish to go surpressed, you should stick with the Blackout.

I am going with the 40 coil buffer spring, but pretty straightforward otherwise.. and building a small frame AR is so much easier that going with the puzzle of a large frame AR..

I should add that Wilson Combat has a LOT of 300 HAM'R Ammo, everything from .90 gr at 2800 fps, to 150 gr. down around 2300 fps, lots of ammo!
