First, welcome to the S&W Forums.
Second, please do not have you pistol destroyed. I know Canada has a silly law that requires handguns to have a barrel of not less than 105mm, that's 4 and 67/500ths of an inch for us in the U.S. Finding a barrel for a S&W metal receiver 9mm pistol longer than 4 inches is going to be very difficult, if not impossible. If it proves to be impossible, please, please, please sell it to someone with a license for these "prohibited" handguns. If you can't find a buyer, part it out, but don't just have it turned into scrap metal.
