Most of the above posts are looking at powder type verses speed for the OPs XTPs! Most are correct and usable at what MAX range!......? I use the 240 XTPs but my max range is 200yds! That is with a 29 Silhouette 10 5/8" barrel! When you get out to yardages above 100 you need power retention. Starting with a 240gr bullet at a speed of 1000fps you don't retain much at 100yds and past that it falls off very fast! I have shot more deer at less than 75yds but my longest shot was 142yds and the gun will preform at the 200yd range! And then you come on to an old buck that takes all that you have to give and keeps on ticking! ! ! Mine was a 10 point at about 75yds! He took 5 rounds in the chest cavity and the LAST was closer to the tree I was in than the distance I was off the ground!
