My deer rifles just get wipe down after each hunt. The bore gets NOTHING and stays "seasoned" the entire 4 12 month deer season(SC Aug 15th to Jan 1st). Unless it gets wet. At the end of the season I'll give them a good cleaning before putting them to bed.
