I have always wanted a Model 18 but the cost always stopped me. I am envious of you folks and your beautiful revolvers.

My younger brother-in-law has his grandfather’s Model 17-2. About ten years ago I tried to talk him out of it so I could swap out the 6-inch barrel for a 4-inch thereby creating a home-made Model 18. I even found and bought the barrel. But, no joy. He still has the 17-2 with its original barrel and I have a nice pinned barrel sitting in my safe. Maybe I should just go looking for a real Model 18.
