I agree 100%. I do not believe there was ever a better .22 semiauto made than the Model 550. But I am a little prejudiced. There was also a shooting gallery model made which used .22 Short only. The regular 550 (or 550-1, there are a few slight differences) will handle .22 Shorts, Longs, and Long Rifles interchangeably. I mainly use .22 Standard Velocity Shorts in mine, and they function fine in it. Hardly any noise.
