Thank you gfors for the understudy idea. As close as I can get to "understudy" is the "Big Brother, Little Brother" idea.

My Little Brother is a Model 63, 22lr, with 3" barrel
My Big Brother is a Model 629 Classic, 44 mag, 6 1/2"barrel

Both are stainless with black rubber grips and both have the locking device. They are similiar in looks when side by side. I think that's pretty cool.

I've taken over 30 gophers with Little Brother and have yet to get Big Brother to the range to experience the magnum force. I'm relatively new to the S & W family, so it should be fun to see how they shoot.
