The discussion was about Model 1899s and the 32 W.C.F. did not appear until 1914. While there might be early exceptions, I do not believe that 32 W.C.F. appeared on the left side of any barrel.

From 1899 until 1913 - 32 Winchester CTG. (left side o barrel)
From 1914 until 1922 - 32 W.C.F. CTG (right side of barrel)
From about 1922-23 until the end of production (1940) - 32-20 CTG. (right side of barrel)

Anyway, here is a 32 W.C.F. stamping on the right side.

As I mentioned in post #12 above, my Model 1899 (SN 663) is marked 32 WINCHESTER CTG on the left side of the barrel. A photo clearly showing this is available in post #10 of the thread "32-20 Hand Ejector" started on this forum 12-18-2021, 03:35 PM. I started the thread. You made post #10, helping me out by pulling photos from GunBroker.
