My passed friends wife has found 7 more guns since she sold the lot to a broker. She has yet to check his engraving room or jewelry making room.

She found this 45 Colt. I brought it home today to see about putting it back together. He took it apart to engrave it, and left it like this.

I have zero knowledge about single action revolvers. Could I get it back together if I found some good Youtube videos? Or should I not bother with it?

It's pretty much already together. Those 5 screws are to hold the trigger guard and backstrap together. The nut & screw with spring retain the cylinder pin. Not sure about the small pins and that other small piece though. Pins may be for the grips.

You were most correct.

Was a piece of cake. Those pins look like they'd go in a set of S&W grips, not sure what the flat broke spring was for, but it wasn't for the revolver. Everything works most well.

It has Stoeger Accokeek MD-A Uberti Italy on top of the barrel. Is it any good?

It's a Uberti Chisholm. They are a basic SAA-styled replica. I had a 4.75" one for awhile, but sold it when I decided I wanted a longer barrel.

The broken piece is from the original 2 leaf spring that powers both the trigger and the cyl locking bolt.
It's the spring held in the action at the front with the flat headed screw.

They are prone to breaking one of the 'legs' , usually the one that powers the cylinder locking bolt and that looks like the one that broke here.

There's a replacement in the gun now, so that's why it works OK.

The Colt style 'One Piece Grip' on the gun is a very nice touch.
At first I suspected the gun orig came with the simple two piece grip panels and the extra pins might have been grip locator pins for the 2 panels.
But I don't see any holes in the sides of the backstrap or trigger guard that say they were used. So I think the 1 piece grip was likely orig to the gun and can think of where those pins would go a SAA.

Nice keepsake from a friend..

Very well made guns, using the original Colt design. I have a Uberti Cattleman 1873 in .45 Colt. Uberti has three importers in the US; Stoeger, Cimarron and Taylors. Stoeger is owned by Benelli, by way of Beretta, the parent company of Uberti. They only act as the FFL importer for Uberti. Taylors and Cimarron "rebrand" Uberti revolvers and sell them under their name. What you see stamped on the frame generally tells which version Uberti you have.

Accokeek is the US subdivision of Uberti, also ultimately owned by Beretta.

Does that particular revolver have a "4-click hammer"? In recent years, Uberti has modified the hammer/trigger assembly to make the revolver "safer", to the chagrin of fans of the clones. If a "4-click" it is the original Colt design. Later designs have a safety in the cylinder rod or in the hammer itself. The newest design only has 3 clicks when you cock the hammer and has a floating firing pin that requires pressure on the trigger to lock it in place so the pin will hit the primer when the hammer falls. I can't remember whether the other safety has 3 or 4 clicks when cocked. Mine is the latest and supposedly is safe with 6 rounds loaded, although the manual says to still only load 5 when carrying with the hammer down.

The "3 clicks" are easy to spot because the trigger sits so far forward. Necessary because the trigger cams up the "transfer rod" behind the floating firing pin. Replacing the hammer and removing the dogleg lifter on the trigger convert the gun to true "4 clicks". I've done a few of mine, no issues.

Since we're showing other Uberti made SA types -

Beretta branded Bisley in 357 Magnum and a USFA branded with Turnbull CCH

I'd like to change mine back to the original Colt design and get rid of the "safety hammer" of the new style. I also don't want the other style where you have an additional ring on the cylinder pin and can push it in to engage a different style safety.

Do you have a link to the old style hammer that will convert me back to 4-clicks and no safety?

I bought the parts to convert to "4 click" from Taylor's Firearms.
