I know, I know, but I’m a fan of the Kalashnikov. Rude and crude, but tough as nails and gets the job done.

Anyone else love (or hate) AKs?

I suppose if you're going to war and that's the best you have, such a crude piece might work fine. Per your post, what is the job that needs doing?

Inanimate objects hold no political ideology. I don't own one, but I have nothing against it. If they didn't do their job well they would have been replaced long ago.

I've got several AK-47's, AK-74's and AR-15's. If they go bang I like them.

You can buy American made AK's.

Mine are Maadi, Hungarian, and a Polytech. I like the option of AK's and AR's. Both platforms do an excellent job of killer paper.

There are AKs and there are AKMs. I see the OP's rifle has a milled receiver, very nice.

Some AK's are highly collectable, I love a good AK.

AR's on the other hand are kinda...well just AR's.

I have no idea how I ended up with 4 AR's, but there are a couple more AK's I'd like to have.

Here's a way to put it, an AR is like a Glock compared to the right import AK being a S&W 3" K frame.

That’s where I’m at. I have AK’s in 7.62x39, 5.45x39, 5.56x45, & .22LR (mostly Arsenal’s). I also have AR’s in 5.56x45, 7.62x51, 5.45x39, 7.62x39, 9mm Parabellum, & .22LR. They’re all fun to shoot (holes in paper).

I perfer Russian AKs. I have 5 of then.

One Vepr sporter in 7.62x39 16" barrel, one in 308win 20" barrel, a Vepr 12 (12 gauge), Vepr FM47, and Vepr FM308.

Other than that, I have two Romanian Wasrs 10s, two Serbian NPAP DF's , and a Serbian M92 and M85 krinks.

Imported AKs are more collectible, go up in value, and are a better investment. They are typically well built and more rugged than ARs.

Same here. I don't understand those who limit themselves. I like and own AKs, ARs, several G3 variants, CZ Bren, and bullpups. What I want next is a FAL. I like them all.

I like both, AKs and ARs. Have three ARs, two Colts and a Bushmaster. Three AKs, two Polytechs with milled receivers and a Romanian AKM. All great guns.
