Promo can be used as a substitute for Red Dot by weight and not by volume, and that info came to me directly from Ben Amonette, ballistician at ATK.

Promo is a flake powder and it has no color dots… and given the information above, it sure seems like a decent nickname might be “no dot Red Dot” but I have never heard that term before this thread.

I bought an 8-pounder of Promo at the start of the Barackolypse and used dang near every single flake in .45 Auto handloads…. and the math ended up being something in the neighborhood of 11,000 rounds if I remember correctly.

When the 8 pounds was used up, I waved bye bye and decided that times would have to be tough for me to ever want to buy more Promo.
