I have an old 870 Wingmaster that came as surplus from the VA Dept of Corrections. Like so many of their retired weapons, the action bars were badly worn, but of course that was an easy fix. The plastic stock was junk, but I found a fairly nice old factory issue set (Wingmaster, not Express) and added a couple more barrels, and mechanically I’m good. If I ever decide to refinish it I’ll either have the receiver and original barrel reblued or blue the barrel and have the receiver hard chromed by Metalloy. The thing is, it’s an honorable old veteran and sort of proud of its battle scars. No way my 40 year old lady would get painted up like a hussy!
