No excuse needed! Large gun, large caliber, and larger recoil for the first time is always hard freehand! NOW, get a good rest, and try again! From your shots, I would predict your gun is shooting low. It also could be, you were jerking the trigger in anticipation! Large caliber guns are a totally different ball game, compared to the 9mm/38 Spl/32 class of calibers when shooting!
