Unless specifically heading out for large dangerous game where a back up might be prudent, I don't see it as viable. My "woods walk gun" has always been a M65 3" RB stoked with Buffalo Bore 180 grain hard cast 357 magnums. 1325 fps out of the 3" bbl. should do pretty much anything I need it to in my neck of the woods.

If I lived in Alaska, a 44 magnum or 500 magnum might fare better, but realistically the 3" M65 is always with me rather than the M29 I left in the car because it was too heavy.
