I can see that your gold bead front sight blade is an aftermarket item made by SDM. The installation job looks very good. It is a high quality addition to your gun. I would shoot the gun before you make a decision to change it out.

I use Mother's Mag Polish when I need to on my nickel guns. Use a very small amount with a very light touch. Take your time and don't try to do it all in one sitting. A soft cotton cloth is what I use.
