Walther PPK 32 acp, 2024 model.

My experiences with the Walther have been in the distant past and with the .380 and, probably half as much shooting time, with the .32. As much as I admire and love the design of the PPK, the look, the quality machine work -- it is the nastiest-recoiling gun I think I have ever shot. Not in ft-lbs of recoil, of course, but darned sharp and unpleasant and with a tendency to draw blood from the web of my hand with every shot fired. The extended tang of this model looks like it might be the solution to that problem -- but I'll need to borrow someone else's for a tryout before laying out $1K. My hand sorta flinches at the thought...

Also like the PPK's. 32 acp Interarms version. And have it's big brother.

Try this Bulgarian Makarov if you want to get your hand numb from the sharp recoil of the 9x18.

As an owner of several Walther 7.65mm platforms from a 1934 Munich PD PP to an end-of-production S&W PPK, I am glad the caliber has been brought back. However, the non-dovetailed fixed rear sight ruins the entire aesthetic for me, and I doubt I will be buying a new one. For some reason, the extended tang on the S&W doesn't bother me- who knows?

Big ol tang, no bite model.
Nice but 1k, wow

I have one of the new PPKs in 380. The large tang ruins it in my opinion. Not only is it too large, but it is TOO sharp. It leaves two red lines on the web of my right hand. Perhaps it will be less pronounced in 32, but it's still ugly.

I believe the .32acp is a seriously under rated caliber. As with all calibers, shot placement is key. The mild recoiling .32 makes putting shots where they count easier.
I have a former German Police PP and a S&W PPK/S-1 both in .32 caliber. I wouldn't feel under gunned with either of them.

Also not a fan of the long tang. I've never had a problem with hammer bite, but when holstered on my hip, the long tang tends to dig into my side.

I just had my S&W .32 PPK out at the range a week and a half ago. I shot the 7+1 that were in the gun and the 7 in the reload mag so I could refresh my carry ammo. That Walther with the warm 73 gr S&B Euro ball at 25 yards was impressive- far more accurate and controllable than a pocket gun is supposed to be. My concern factor about needing it to engage any reasonable threat is pretty much zero.

Lot of money for a mouse gun with a crummy trigger. At least it probably won't slice you with that beaver tail on it. (Not saying I wouldn't mind having one. For my James Bond collection.)

I really like mine. However, be careful unloading a live round manually. Walther is using what is basically a .380 slide with a .380 size breech face instead of a .32 size breech face. Manually retracting the slide, the round simply falls off the extractor before it gets any wear near the ejector.

Live fire it works just fine.

That's kind of appalling - thanks for the info, Trooper Joe.

I can agree with that. I used to carry my Feg PP clone in .32 ACP. I gave it the standard tweak of down on the hammer spring, and up on the recoil spring, resulting in an acceptable trigger. I could deliver a 7-yard, fist sized group at speed by my second range trip. Recoil recovery was very good. I still cannot shoot a similar sized 9 mm that fast and that well, and I probably never will unless ammo prices soften more to allow more practice.

I have an ex-Bayerische Polizei PP made in 1969 and a 1965 PPK. As others have noted 7.65 is much more pleasant to shoot than the .380. While .32 ACP wouldn't be my first choice, I did see a Bahnpolizei stop a running Turk with one shot in the Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof. I don't know what led up to it, or what else happened. Fifty years ago if a German cop said, "Stop or I'll shoot," he was not bluffing.

I am a cheap shooter so I got my James Bond gun as a 22LR Walther. Does bot smash a plate glass window like a brick, but punches wholes in paper nicely.

I wouldn't expect $1,000 .32's to exactly fly off the shelf. Not a popular caliber with the masses.

.32 caliber firearms have a cult following, and since options are generally limited, scarcity often drives prices through the roof.

I love my Walthers, even the S&W iteration. But, I hate that stupid looking extended tang carried along with the design to the next player in the game. They should have corrected Smith's mistake. I carry the Smith sometime's fwiw.
Look at the comparison, it's like a smoke'n hot chick with a face attached to a huge, Jimmy Durante nose?

Agreed, I hate the goofy beavertails on all the 1911s they sell nowadays.
