On a related topic, I just saw a news item that CFPB has ruled today that delinquent medical-related debt cannot appear on your credit report or be counted in your credit rating calculation. It didn’t say if that ruling will be retroactive. I saw no further details, but there are sure to be some. I doubt it means that any such debt will be forgiven, only that it cannot negatively affect your credit rating
