Way back when S&W introduced the “original” minigun, the Model 469, I was a young cop and I couldn’t get one fast enough. Mine was serial number A851867. It was used as a BUG, but mostly an off duty piece. Unfortunately, something else newer and better (?) came along (an HK P-7) it was sold to a fellow officer.
A few years ago in an attempt to replace that early minigun, I was fortunate enough to win a woodlawn boys auction for an ANIB 469 that was actually labeled “LOW NUMBER” by the factory (A840047.) Cool gun.
Recently I had the itch for another 469, but one of the Ashland Shooting Sports Special Edition in brushed nickel. I was fortunate enough to connect with member rwadley1 who was also interested in an Ashland 469. Robert decided to not buy the gun, which was listed on a North Carolina local gun forum.
With the help of NCBEAGLE, I was able to get in touch with the seller and work out a deal for a very nice condition nickel 469.
Most of my S&W collection (accumulation?) is revolvers, but with this addition I’m now up to a mixture of twenty First, Second and Third Generation pistols.
Thanks Robert and Ryan for making this happen!
